Job summary

The Territory Manager role at BEDGEAR focuses on developing relationships with key stakeholders, driving brand awareness and sales across an assigned territory. This role hunts new business, delivers educational trainings, supports retail partners’ objectives, and provides market insights to boost performance and merchandising effectiveness.

As a BEDGEAR brand champion at retail locations, you will engage staff at all levels, including executives, and represent BEDGEAR at trade shows and events

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in sales management or territory management.
  • Experience in bedding or home furnishings is strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel 75% of the time and work weekends/holidays.

Job description

Title: Sales - Territory Manager

Location: Any Marketplace! We are looking for talented and skilled Territory Managers! This role requires a motivated individual who is comfortable with frequent travel, spending 75% or more of their time on the road.

Job Type: Full-time.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 + bonus + uncapped kicker opportunities (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Job Summary

The Territory Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, driving brand awareness and sales, and ensuring BEDGEAR’s presence within the assigned territory. This role includes hunting new business opportunities, conducting educational and inspirational training and presentations, supporting retail partners’ business objectives, and providing market insights to enhance sales performance and merchandising effectiveness. Additionally, the Territory Manager serves as a brand champion at retail partner locations, fostering engagement at all levels within the organization.

Essential Functions (included but not limited to)
  • Research, network, and establish relationships with key stakeholders, including:
    • Business Owners, Presidents, and C-suite Executives
    • Regional Operations Managers
    • Learning & Development Teams
    • Merchandising and Buying Groups
    • Store Management and Retail Sales Associates
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of BEDGEAR products and competitive offerings.
  • Conduct sales and marketing presentations, training sessions, and seminars at retail partner locations and BEDGEAR corporate locations.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and training for Retail Sales Associates to improve product knowledge and sales performance.
  • Serve as a liaison between BEDGEAR and retail partners to identify new business opportunities, support contract negotiations, close sales, and assist in marketing strategy development.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve assigned revenue targets.
  • Monitor competitive activity and provide recommendations to maintain a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
  • Represent BEDGEAR at trade shows, marketing events, and industry functions as needed.
  • Conduct store visits to ensure merchandising compliance, including:
    • Documenting and photographing POP displays and visual merchandising setups
    • Identifying and recommending merchandising improvements
    • Evaluating competitive floor space and providing insights to sales leadership
    • Identifying areas for additional marketing collateral placement
    • Updating SharePoint with reports following store visits
  • Maintain call reports and provide performance feedback from store visits.
  • Work remotely with a self-maintained home office when not traveling.

Minimum Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify
  • English literate and proficient (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension)
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check is required
  • Must have home office with personal laptop for business use
  • Must be willing to participate in a bring your own device (BYOD) cell-phone program (stipend provided)
  • Must have dependable personal vehicle with credible insurance coverage and valid driver’s license
  • Must have a valid passport for travel outside of territory as needed
  • Travel required at least 75% of time
  • Ability and willingness to work weekends and major retail holidays
Preferred Education/Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in sales management, territory management, or retail account development is preferred.
  • Experience in bedding, home furnishings, or mattress categories is strongly preferred.
