Job summary

Merz Therapeutics is seeking a seasoned Hospital Sales professional to develop strategic hospital and healthcare-system accounts in the U.S. You will identify opportunities, build relationships with senior stakeholders, and expand the company’s value proposition across hospital and specialty settings.

The role requires 3+ years of specialty sales experience (pharma/biotech preferred), Buy-and-bill injectable experience, and deep knowledge of managed care and reimbursement environments.

Qualifications

  • Must live in the Columbia, SC area.
  • 3+ years of specialty sales experience; pharmaceutical/biotech preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required at minimum
  • Buy-and-bill injectable experience preferred
  • Hospital sales experience preferred
  • Neurology experience preferred
  • Proven and documented track record of meeting or exceeding sales management goals
  • Knowledge of managed care, Medicare Part B, and state Medicaid selling and reimbursement environments
  • Knowledge of product/disease states, market data, marketplace dynamics, and reimbursement trends
  • Ability to maintain compliance with promotional and commercial policies
  • Ability to use a Sales Force Automation System
  • Ability to allocate and budget territory resources based on ROI analysis

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic hospital and healthcare-system accounts
  • Identify untapped opportunities and drive profitable revenue
  • Investigate account goals, objectives, strategies, and competitive situations
  • Build relationships with senior stakeholders, including C-suite, VP-level administrators, and department chairs
  • Expand business opportunities and enhance Merz Therapeutics’ value proposition
  • Identify external experts and provide customer insights to the organization
  • Analyze sales and market trends to identify future opportunities
  • Present and promote Merz Therapeutics products for approved indications
  • Execute total office call and hospital selling activities
  • Detail and sample customers at appropriate frequency
  • Develop and execute territory business/action plans
  • Maintain customer databases using a Sales Force Automation System
  • Adjust selling strategies using marketing data
  • Support local advocacy relationships
  • Attend sales meetings and workshops
  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Managed Markets, National Account Directors, Reimbursement Access Managers, and Key Account Directors
  • Navigate managed-care and reimbursement obstacles and opportunities
  • Complete administrative requirements accurately and on time
  • Allocate territory resources based on return-on-investment analysis
  • Maintain professional, compliant, and ethical customer interactions
