Job summary

Killington/Pico Ski Resort Partners, LLC is seeking a Terrain Park Supervisor to support the Terrain Park Manager in daily park and bike park operations. You will lead, train, and supervise staff while ensuring safe practices and high-quality feature design and maintenance across terrain and bike trails.

You will partner with Patrol, Grooming, Maintenance, Marketing, and Lift Ops to meet goals, manage budgets, and maintain accurate logs.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience in mountain operations or similar
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Friendly and outgoing personality – ability to interact with a wide range of guests and coworkers
  • Ability to accept criticism and feedback from coworkers and guests
  • Self-starter with the ability to stay productive with limited supervision
  • Strong understanding of past and present trends in the industry (terrain park/bike park)
  • Familiarity with terrain park and mountain biking events/races
  • Experience using a wide variety of hand/power tools
  • Experience operating snowmobiles, ATVs, and side-by-sides at a mountain resort
  • Experience operating heavy machinery is beneficial (skid-steer, mini-excavator, front-end loader)
  • Flexible schedule
  • Is honest and has the highest integrity
  • Is able to handle and manage confidential information
  • Professional appearance. Adheres to all grooming guidelines
  • Follows established policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate leadership and teambuilding within the department
  • Responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, motivating, and supervising Terrain Park staff
  • Responsible for organizing daily Terrain Park operations and supervising an efficient workflow
  • Assist Terrain Park Manager with short and long-term goal planning and progress tracking
  • Assist Terrain Park Manager with implementation of the department budget
  • Responsible for ensuring daily maintenance logs and labor reports are completed in a timely manner
  • Set example for Park Crew by practicing safe riding habits in the park and demonstrating excellent customer service
  • Responsible for making decisions on feature and park closures based on conditions
  • Attend daily Snow Plan meetings through the winter season to communicate needs or issues with the Terrain Parks
  • Assist in the design, fabrication, and repair of features as needed
  • Assist with park builds and daily maintenance
  • Assist Terrain Park Manager with scheduling park builds, designing feature layouts, and hosting events
  • Ensure a regular presence of Terrain Park Attendants in all parks throughout each day
  • Maintain a proficient understanding of industry best practices and risk management
  • Communicate regularly with equipment operators to ensure consistent presentation of Terrain Parks and mountain biking trails
  • Functions as an ambassador of Killington Mountain, modeling and sharing the Killington “culture” with our guests and employees. Upholds the most professional image. Continually strives to exceed our guests’ expectations and create memories for our guests and staff.

  • Operate a snowmobile in various conditions around the mountain

Job Summary

The Terrain Park Supervisor will assist the Terrain Park Manager in the overall delivery of Killington Parks and Killington Bike Park with a primary focus on daily operations. The Supervisor is responsible for motivating, training, and supervising staff while supporting tasks as part of the daily operations. The Supervisor will also be responsible for ensuring proper procedures are followed for risk management and best practices in terrain park and bike trail feature design and maintenance. In addition to daily operations, this position has some administrative and financial responsibilities and works closely with other department leaders (Patrol, Grooming, Vehicle Maintenance, Snowmaking, Marketing, and Lift Ops to name a few).

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Valid US Driver’s license
  • Must physically be able to stand for extended periods of time and be able to bend, reach, climb, push, and pull
  • Physical Lifting: Over 50 pounds
  • Expert ability on skis or snowboard in all conditions
  • Expert ability mountain biking on downhill trails
  • Superior verbal communication, reading comprehension, and written communication skills in English
  • Must have excellent hand/eye coordination and visual concentration
  • Ability to tolerate and work efficiently in an extreme mountainous environment with fluctuating temperatures and conditions

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
