The Bar Harbor Inn and Spa is seeking a friendly Terrace Service Bartender for the season to provide beverage service on our scenic outdoor terrace in Bar Harbor, Maine.

You'll work part-time on Mondays and Tuesdays from 10:00 AM until close, earning $15.00 per hour plus a tip share from servers, with a range of benefits and a supportive team culture at Witham Family Hotels.

Qualifications

• Experience in bartending or food & beverage is preferred but not required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Must meet Maine alcohol service requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages per standards and Maine liquor laws.
• Provide attentive and friendly service to guests on the terrace.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked service station.
• Monitor guest needs and proactively assist.
• Process guest orders accurately and efficiently.
• Assist with opening/closing duties including stocking and cleaning.
• Collaborate with Terrace Grille servers and management for a seamless guest experience.
• Maintain a professional and welcoming atmosphere at all times.

Position Details:

• Schedule: Part-Time, Seasonal
• Days: Monday and Tuesday
• Hours: 10:00 AM until close (typically one hour after sunset)
• Location: Bar Harbor Inn and Spa – Terrace Service
• Pay: $15.00 per hour plus a tip share from the servers

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with company standards and Maine liquor laws
• Provide attentive and friendly service to guests enjoying the terrace area
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked service station
• Monitor guest needs and proactively provide assistance
• Process guest orders accurately and efficiently
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including stocking and cleaning
• Work closely with Terrace Grille servers and management to ensure a seamless guest experience
• Maintain a professional and welcoming atmosphere at all times

Skills & Requirements:

• Previous bartending or food and beverage experience preferred, but not required
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail
• Positive attitude and professional appearance
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced hospitality environment
• Must meet all applicable Maine alcohol service requirements
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
