Job summary

The Richland-Lexington Airport District is seeking a capable Supervisor to lead Terminal Support Technicians, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and compliance with airport policies. You will delegate tasks, monitor daily schedules, and assist with interviewing and training.

Strong communication, supervisory experience, and familiarity with MSDS and cleaning operations are essential. Weekend and holiday shifts, outdoor work, and security training may be required.

Qualifications

JOB SUMMARYUnder limited supervision, directly supervises Terminal Support Technicians, performs administrative duties along with various janitorial functions as required to maintain proper cleanliness and sanitation standards within the Airport facility. Delegates tasks to other Terminal Support staff and ensures compliance with airport and department specific policies and procedures. Must be able to work with limited supervision.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESReviews the work of subordinates for completeness, accuracy and adherence to policies and standards; evaluates and makes recommendations; offers advice and assistance as needed.Delegates and/or perform custodial tasks; including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, cleaning and stocking restrooms; dusting and cleaning surfaces; cleaning glass doors and windows; removing trash; etc.Maintains monthly and daily work schedules and assignments based on usage of the Airport facility.Assists with interviewing applicants for open position(s) in Terminal Support.Assists with training for Terminal Support personnel.Maintains Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) on all applicable materials.Performs annual employee performance appraisals.Attend meetings, workshops and training sessions as required.Communicates and interacts with various groups and individuals including the immediate supervisor, subordinates, other Airport employees, tenants, sales representatives, and the public.Performs other related duties as assigned in support of the operational and strategic objectives of the Terminal Support Department.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent required.One year of supervisory or leadership experience.Excellent interpersonal, multi-tasking, and communication skills.Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and related software programs.Must be available to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.Must possess and maintain a valid South Carolina driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.Must be able to show the ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets and other related labels and warnings.Must be able to successfully complete required background checks and security training.PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTSMust be physically able to operate a variety of equipment and machinery including, but not limited to, a vacuum cleaner, mops, brooms, cleaning instruments, etc. Must be physically able to exert more than twenty pounds of force occasionally and up to ten pounds frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Physical demands are in excess of sedentary work; must be able to walk and stand for periods of time, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, balance, push, pull and reach. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of up to fifty pounds. Must be able to read written instructions and understand labels on cleaning chemicals and materials. Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions and exposure and must be available for regularly scheduled off- hours work and emergency overtime.
