Job summary

AmeriGas is seeking a Terminal Operator to supervise unloading propane rail cars and oversee terminal operations at our Atlanta location. The role includes maintaining rail car and truck inventory, coordinating loading activities, and ensuring safe operating conditions.

Qualified candidates will have LPG operations experience, a high school diploma, and familiarity with pumps, compressors, and MS Office. This onsite position offers benefits and requires a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience as a Terminal Operator for LPG operations.
• High school education or equivalent.
• Mechanical experience dealing with pumps and compressors.
• Experience with hazardous materials handling.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Responsibilities

• Unload propane rail cars and be able to load rail cars.
• Oversee the loading of LPG trucks and be able to unload LPG trucks.
• Take daily temperature, pressure and liquid level readings of storage tanks and record.
• Complete daily and month end inventory reports.
• Complete rail car and truck paperwork.
• Perform and oversee equipment maintenance and repairs.

Job Summary (Purpose): Under the direction of the Regional Logistics Manager the incumbent will function as a working supervisor to unload propane rail cars, supervise the operations of the terminal, oversee the Rail Car inventory; complete daily and month end inventory reports; oversee loading of trucks; and perform maintenance and repairs on Terminal Equipment while operating in a safe working environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Take daily temperature, pressure and liquid level readings of the storage tanks and record
• Complete a daily inventory report
• Complete a month end inventory report
• Unload propane rail cars and be able to load rail cars
• Oversee the loading of LPG trucks and be able to unload LPG trucks
• Complete rail car and truck paper work
• Perform and equipment maintenance and repairs
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Regional Logistics Manager

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Previous propane rail car and truck experience preferred
• Capable of climbing a ladder and working on top of a rail car
• Must possess a valid driver's license

Education and Experience Required:

• Two years' experience as a Terminal Operator for LPG Operations
• High school education or equivalent
• Mechanical experience dealing with pumps and compressors
• Experience in hazardous materials handling
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications

Working conditions:

• Working outside and possibly in inclement weather

The pay for this position ranges from $32.50 to $33.50, depending on circumstances including an applicant's skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation may include eligibility to earn a performance-based bonus or commissions on completed sales depending on position.
