Job summary

Kinder Morgan is seeking a Pier IX Operator to safely transfer bulk materials from railcars to vessels and support terminal operations. You will operate, inspect, maintain, and clean equipment and facilities involved in material handling. A strong safety mindset and reliability are essential.

We expect at least one year of industrial experience and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions. A TWIC credential is required, and a valid driver's license is preferred.

What You Need

Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience

• Minimum of one (1) year of work experience required.
• Experience in an industrial, marine terminal, manufacturing, construction, or material-handling environment preferred.
• Experience operating heavy equipment such as front-end loaders, bulldozers, forklifts, or similar industrial equipment preferred.
• Demonstrated history of safe work practices, reliability, and quality performance required.

Certifications and Licenses

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) as required by U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regulations.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Physical Requirements

While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee must be able to:

• Frequently stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach.
• Operate equipment controls and hand tools.
• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Work at elevated heights and access equipment using ladders and stairs.
• Meet OSHA medical requirements for respirator use.
• Possess adequate vision, including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

• Day and night shifts may be required.
• Overtime, weekend, holiday, and emergency response work may be required based on operational needs.
• Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and humidity.
• Exposure to dust, noise, vibration, moving mechanical equipment, and bulk material-handling operations is expected.
• Work in industrial and marine terminal environments, including elevated work areas, is required.

Pay Range

USD $27.45 - USD $28.55 /Hr.
