Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate, inspect, and maintain plant equipment and systems including controls, pumps, valves, and storage facilities.
• Monitor pressures, temperatures, flow rates, and levels to ensure optimal operation.
• Respond to alarms and take corrective actions.
• Coordinate with control centers, business groups, and other operations.
• Perform daily walk-around inspections and maintain housekeeping standards.
• Issue work permits and ensure safety requirements (LOTO, permits, safety meetings) are met for terminal work.
• Oversee contractor work and ensure equipment functions properly, reporting failures to supervisor.

Description

Summary

This position is responsible for the operation of compressors, motors, cooling equipment, pumps, valves, pipelines, and other propane storage terminal related equipment. This position ensures the cost effective and efficient operation of the propane storage terminal, pipeline, and associated equipment within NGL facilities and pipelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:

• Operate, inspect, and maintain equipment and systems at plant facilities which includes, but is not limited to: process controls and measurement, compressors, pumps, pump stations, pressure relief systems, instrument air systems, dehydrators, emergency shutdown systems, reciprocating compressors, and NGL storage and transfer facilities in a reliable and efficient manner while in compliance with the Partnership’s procedures and regulatory requirements
• Seek to optimize processing through facility by maintaining proper product specifications
• Monitor and control pressures, temperatures, flow rates, and levels to efficiently achieve desired operating results and ensure proper operation of equipment under current process conditions such as Start/Stop/Rate adjustment of equipment
• Respond to alarms and problems within the plant and take corrective measures
• Communicate with partnership control centers, business groups, and other operating groups as necessary
• Perform daily walk around inspections to identify potential risks and ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained
• Issue work permits to contractors performing work at the Terminal. This includes ensuring that pre-job safety meetings, lockout - tag-out, confined space entry, and gas tech monitoring requirements are met for all work performed at the Terminal
• Ensure that all terminal equipment is functioning properly and report failures to Supervisor
• Oversee the construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties
• Actively participate and provide leadership in safety programs and initiatives.
• Provide on-call support for areas of responsibility on a rotating basis
• Perform energy isolation lockout/tagout procedures (LOTO)
• Remain knowledgeable of, and prepared to enact and coordinate the Emergency Response activities until relieved by supervisor or management personnel
• Communicate product outages and equipment downtime to supervisor, customers, and other impacted parties in a prompt fa shion
• Comply with partnership safety policies and procedures

• Carry a pager or cell phone allowing for shift hold over or shift reassignment, as well as call out at all hours

• Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and written
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license for state of residence
• Must be willing and able to work as a part of team, take direction from supervisor(s), prioritize work schedules, focus attention to details, and follow work rules

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level

• Level C requires a minimum of 0 - 2 years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience
• Level B requires a minimum of 2 - 4 years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience
• Level A requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience

Working Conditions

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

• Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Driving, walking, standing frequently.
• Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions and some heavy lifting Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Occasional overnight travel may be required.
