Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Terminal Operator to safely operate equipment at the St. Louis Terminal, ensuring accurate and efficient loading and unloading of rail cars, vessels, and trailers. You will collaborate with managers, customers and suppliers to maintain smooth operations.

Requirements include a High School diploma/GED and 1–3 years of experience; a valid driver’s license is preferred. The role emphasizes safety, PPE use, and basic computer/SAP skills to support logistics.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with Terminal Managers, customers, sales personnel, trucking firms and suppliers.
  • Maintain grounds, offices, warehouse, yard, etc.
  • Load/unload material via rail cars, boats and/or trucks as applicable.
  • Operate and maintain mobile equipment and assist with minor repairs.
  • Follow safety policies and PPE protocols and promote a safety culture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Terminal Operator safely operates all equipment at the location used to load and unload rail cars, boats and/or trucks, ensuring order accuracy and expeditious processing of requests.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Terminal Operators need the ability to communicate with Terminal Managers, customers, sales personnel, trucking firms and suppliers.
  • Maintain grounds, offices, warehouse, yard, etc.
  • Carry out tasks related to loading/unloading material, both bulk and bagged, waterway and road methods of transportation, as appropriate for the specific location.
  • Operate and conduct general maintenance on mobile equipment and assist with general mechanical maintenance.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
  • Other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required Education: High School diploma/GED

Required Work Experience: 1-3 years

Licenses Preferred: Valid Driver’s License

Required Computer and Software Skills: Basic Knowledge about computers, Microsoft programs, and SAP.

Additional Requirements
  • High Mechanical aptitude and ability
  • Candidates with a mechanical background and welding experience are desirable
  • Experience with customer service and equipment operation and maintenance.
  • A good understanding of the basics of the cement manufacturing process or logistics is preferred.
  • Demonstrates technical skills in welding, machine repair, and basic electricity
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment (\"PPE\"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
