Job summary

Amrize North America Inc. is seeking a Terminal Operator in Providence, RI. You will operate terminal equipment to load and unload rail cars and/or trucks, ensuring order accuracy and expeditious processing of requests under terminal management guidance.

Candidates should have 1–3 years of experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and basic knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office and SAP. A strong mechanical aptitude, safety focus and willingness to train at other Amrize locations are

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Required Work Experience: 1-3 years.
  • Required Technical Skills: Basic knowledge about computers, Microsoft Office and SAP.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain grounds, offices, warehouse, yard, etc., in a clean and presentable state.
  • Unload railcars, transferring products into proper silos.
  • Load/unload material for rail and road.
  • Safe, proper use and operation of unloading equipment (vibrators, compressors, front-end loader, pumps, etc.).
  • Maintain maintenance records on terminal and mobile equipment.
  • Record receipts, shipments and inventory per guidelines.
  • Assist at other Amrize locations as required.
  • Assist in training of new employees.
  • Promote health, safety and environmental policies and a culture of safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The responsibility of this position is the hands-on operation of the terminal equipment and dailyoperating functions of the terminal as directed by terminal management. The Terminal Operator safelyoperates all equipment at the location used to load and unload rail cars and/or trucks, ensuring orderaccuracy and expeditious processing of requests. Candidates must have strong mechanical aptitude andability.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Maintain grounds, offices, warehouse, yard, etc, in a clean and presentable state.
  • Responsible for the unloading of railcars, transferring of the products into proper silos.
  • Carry out tasks related to loading/unloading material, for rail, and road.
  • Responsible for safe, proper use and operation of unloading equipment (vibrators, compressors, front-end loader, blowers, pumps, vacuum systems, railcar mover, pneumatic door opener, boot lifts, hoistingequipment, etc.).
  • Operate and conduct general maintenance on mobile equipment and assist with general mechanicalmaintenance.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records on all terminal equipment, and mobile equipment.
  • Perform clerical functions following the established guidelines for the recording of receipts, shipmentsand inventory records.
  • Assist at other Amrize locations as required.
  • Assists in the training of new employees.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety andenvironmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit thesebehaviors.
  • Other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Required Work Experience: 1-3 years
Required Technical Skills: Basic knowledge about computers, Microsoft Office andSAP

Additional Requirements:
  • Experience with customer service and equipment operation andmaintenance.
  • Cement Terminal experience preferred
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
