Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Terminal Operator at the LaCrosse Terminal in Wisconsin to safely operate loading/unloading equipment for rail, waterway, and road transportation. You will maintain the terminal grounds and infrastructure while ensuring accurate records and adherence to safety policies.

Prior experience in cement logistics and equipment maintenance is valued. Required education includes a high school diploma or GED and 1–3 years of related experience; a valid driver's license and basic

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of work experience preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Basic knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office and SAP.
  • Experience with customer service and equipment operation is preferred.
  • Understanding of cement manufacturing process or logistics is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all terminal equipment at LaCrosse location to load/unload rail cars, boats and trucks.
  • Maintain grounds, offices, warehouse, and yard.
  • Handle loading/unloading of bulk and bagged material for rail, waterway, and road transport.
  • Operate truck loading equipment and perform general maintenance on mobile equipment.
  • Sample product from trucks and barges per company policy.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records for terminal equipment.
  • Perform clerical tasks and ensure health, safety, and environmental policies are followed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Terminal Operator safely operates all equipment at the location used to load and unload rail cars, boatsand/or trucks, ensuring order accuracy and expeditious processing of requests.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Maintain grounds, offices, warehouse, yard, etc.
  • Carry out tasks related to loading/unloading material, both bulk and bagged, for rail, waterway, and roadmethods of transportation, as appropriate for the specific location.
  • Understand and operate truck loading equipment.
  • Operate and conduct general maintenance on mobile equipment and assist with general mechanicalmaintenance.
  • Sample product from trucks and barges following company policies.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records on all terminal equipment.
  • Perform clerical functions
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety andenvironmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit thesebehaviors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required Education: High School diploma/GED
Required Work Experience: 1 - 3 years

Licenses Preferred: Valid Driver’s License

Required Computer and Software Skills: Basic knowledge about computers, Microsoft Office and SAP

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience with customer service and equipment operation and maintenance.
  • A good understanding of the basics of the cement manufacturing process or logistics is preferred.
  • Demonstrates technical skills in welding, machine repair, and basic electricity
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment (“PPE”), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
