Job summary

Targa Resources is seeking a Marine Terminal Operator at the Galena Park Marine Terminal in Galena Park, TX. You will oversee safe and efficient cargo transfers and maintain shore equipment, including cranes, loading arms, pumps, and refrigeration systems.

The role requires rotating 12-hour shifts, weekend work, and the ability to work in a self-managed team environment. TWIC access and strong safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to access equipment on barges and ships and perform heavy lifting and tugging.
• Able to work 12-hour day/night rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Basic computer skills in Windows.
• Must be a self-starter and able to work in a self-managed team.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safe and efficient cargo transfer operation of the marine docks and related shore equipment (cranes, loading arms, gangways).
• Responsible for shore equipment including pumps, compressors, valves, boilers, dehydration and refrigeration systems.
• Must work at Targa’s Galena Park Marine Terminal in Galena Park, TX (DOT and USCG regulated facility).
• Other duties as assigned.

• Responsible for shore equipment which includes pumps, compressors, valves, , boilers, dehydration and refrigeration systems.
• Must work at Targa’s Galena Park Marine Terminal in Galena Park, TX (DOT and USCG regulated facility)
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must be able to access equipment on barges and ships, some heavy lifting and tugging on ropes, hoses & loading arms, operating valves(Is this a job function?)
• Able to work 12 hour (day/night)rotating shifts, including weekends (two scheduled weekends per month) and holidays, subject to callouts & overtime
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Windows applications
• Must be able to work in a self-managed team environment
• Must be a self-starter and flexible; able to plan and manage multiple tasks
• Able to work with a multi-national customer base
• Able to obtain a TWIC card.
• Regular and reliable attendance is required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous marine LPG/Chemical terminal experience with pumps, compressors, valves, , boilers, dehydration and refrigeration systems.
• College courses in process technology, process controls and instrumentation
• Has a valid TWIC card
  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to lift, push, and pull at least a minimum of 50lbs.
• Ability to work in changing climate conditions.
• Able to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.
