Overview

The Terminal Operations Supervisor monitors and supervises daily tasks that are intended to ensure the safe and efficient movement of passengers throughout the terminal while emphasizing a world-class guest experience. Responsibilities include executing service level failures mitigation plans, monitoring critical systems, responding to calls, and conducting terminal and safety inspections. It further includes oversight of security, safety, guest experience and facilities-related contract management. The role has a special emphasis on airside activity overseeing ramp operations and ensuring safe movements of aircraft by directing aircraft by two-way radio. This role reports to the Manager, Terminal Operations and requires a high degree of initiative, sound judgment, operational excellence, and leadership.

Compensation

$68,000 - $72,000 Per Year

  • Terminal operations and/or guest experience background preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task, function effectively in intermittently high-pressure environment.

Education and Experience

Job Responsibilities
  • Working with personnel and programs to enhance the airport terminal and curbside operations, ensuring safe and efficient flow of passengers through the terminal facilities while promoting a world-class guest experience.
  • Establishes strong working relationships and effective liaisons with all stakeholders, including airlines, tenants, business partners and government agencies.
  • Conducts regular inspection tours of the entire facility for appearance, safety, staffing, security, and maintenance while encouraging Terminal B brand standards are adhered to.
  • Utilizes the terminal inspection program, performance measurement tools and standards to improve overall performance and guest experience. Continually monitors and analyzes data on area of responsibility and makes recommendations on process improvement.
  • Monitors site systems, assesses trends, investigates abnormalities, and may coordinate corrective action.
  • Generate and track work orders in Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Directs and monitors daily performance of company subcontractors.
  • Supports Terminal B rules and regulations by reinforcing the Terminal B Breach of Rules program (TBBOR).
  • Directs guest service efforts of partners and subcontractors during periods of irregular operations.
  • Supports the snow team during winter operations.
  • Responds to incidents/accidents, conducts investigations as necessary, and prepares medical/incident reports.
  • Coordinates with the Port Authority, airlines, tenants, and operations personnel in emergency situations.
  • Maintains a daily log of terminal activities including issues or concerns that may require follow up.
  • Building the daily gate, check-in counter, claim device and outbound baggage schedules for maximum efficiency.
  • Monitors daily allocation of common-use resources; troubleshooting scheduling conflicts as they arise while maintaining a strong focus on guest experience.
  • Controls the safe movement of aircraft on the apron area, ensuring safe sequencing and separation as indicated in the Terminal B Apron Management Plan.
  • Operates two-way radio system to direct aircraft movement on Terminal B apron area, including but not limited to aircraft pushbacks, approved taxi routes, ground delay advisories, construction advisories and/or emergency situations.
  • Prepares various reports for internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure priorities are understood and acted upon, with clear turnover for continuity across shifts.
  • Assists the operations management team with the onboarding and training of newly hired team members.
  • Acts in the position of On-Duty Terminal Operations Manager if required.
  • Perform all other duties as required.
