Job summary

Lamers Bus Lines, Inc. is seeking a School Bus Terminal Manager to lead a local team ensuring safe, reliable transportation for students and families. You will oversee operations, safety compliance, and fleet maintenance while building customer relationships and growing the business.

The role requires organizational leadership, strong communication, and relevant experience; a CDL license is preferred or willingness to obtain it, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or associate degree or 2+ years transportation ops experience.
• Valid CDL Class B or higher with school bus/passenger endorsements or willingness to obtain – training provided.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily operations including office staff, drivers, and mechanics.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
• Oversee hiring, onboarding, and driver file maintenance for DOT compliance.
• Manage and schedule charter and school bus bookings.
• Maintain fleet condition, coordinate vehicle maintenance, and ensure equipment safety.
• Develop customer relationships and drive new business opportunities.
• Monitor customer billing and payment collections.
• Obtain CDL and occasionally assist with driving.
• Coordinate building and grounds maintenance as needed.

We're looking for someone organized, communicative, and passionate about safe, reliable transportation, with prior management experience and a CDL license (or willingness to obtain) being a plus. • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic office software; ability to learn internal systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
