Job summary

Central Transport, LLC in Asheville, NC, seeks a seasoned Terminal Manager to lead dock operations and supervise a team of drivers and dock staff. You will ensure safety standards, KPI achievement, and exceptional service quality for a vast client network.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a high aptitude for technology. A willingness to work approximately 50 hours per week and oversee shift flexibility is essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dock operations at the terminal.
• Manage loading/unloading freight and forklift traffic; oversee proper palletized freight sorting.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain terminal staff.
• Provide leadership and accountability to drivers and dock workers.
• Monitor dock production to meet KPI goals.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in product quality for customers.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts as business levels increase.

Central Transport LLC is one of the nation’s most reliable and technologically advanced LTL (Less-than-Truckload) carriers to date. We are privately owned and have been servicing manufacturing & retail companies of all sizes for almost 90 years now. With over 200 locations around the country, we pride ourselves on the continuous expansions that we have made and are still making strides to improve our operation systems to better service our wide network of clientele. For example, we have recently implemented 25 next-day hubs in our network to provide immediate, essential services for our customers overnight. Candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule of:

Monday-Friday 6:00AM-4:00PM

Salary ranges from:

$75,000-$90,000 per year including up to 20% in quarterly bonuses (could earn an additional $15,000-$18,000/year in bonuses)

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee dock operations at the terminal
• This includes the process of loading & unloading freight, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain terminal staff
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers and dock workers
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards
• Ensure company operational model compliance
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
• Flexibility to work varying shifts as business levels increase
