Job summary

Silvi Materials in Fuquay-Varina, NC is seeking a Terminal Maintenance Mechanic to support terminal operations and perform PMs on motors, conveyors, and related equipment. The role involves diagnosing hydraulic/pneumatic systems, fabrication, welding, and electrical work as needed.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of industrial maintenance experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to read manuals and schematics.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License.
• At least one year’s experience in industrial maintenance required.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience in steel fabrication and welding is highly preferred.
• Experience in electrical panels and electrical machinery.
• Experience in maritime, shipping port, dock, or cement/concrete industry highly preferred.
• Knowledge of various motor types and operation is highly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, diagrams, schematics, and parts manuals.
• Willingness to put in extra hours when necessary.
• Knowledge and experience with safety regulations (OSHA, MSHA) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing PMs on motors, pneumatic systems, conveyor systems, and production-related equipment.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic/pneumatic systems and conveyor belts.
• Remove defective parts and dismantle devices using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
• Determine changes in dimensional requirements by inspecting parts with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
• Maintain technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing technical publications, and working with vendors to stay current with plant technology.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Coordinate, verify, and report downtime for the assigned shift.
• Communicate with management regarding condition of critical plant equipment to minimize downtime.
• Perform general labor as required (landscaping/yard work, painting, and general maintenance).

So, what does a Terminal Maintenance MechanicDo?As aTerminal Maintenance Mechanic, you'll be an integral part of our terminal operations team:
