HMM seeks a skilled Terminal Operations Coordinator to oversee daily container terminal operations across the US, South America, and Canada, leveraging your strong logistics and terminal operations expertise to monitor activities, ensure efficiency, and provide timely reporting. We value your expertise and are committed to your growth as you collaborate with terminal operators, internal teams, and stakeholders to maintain smooth operations and procedural adherence. Key Responsibilities

  • Terminal Operations Management: Oversee daily operations at container terminals across North and South America, ensuring efficiency and compliance
  • Vendor Payment Processing: Collaborate with internal finance teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices
  • Communication & Coordination: Facilitate clear and timely communication between internal and external teams
  • Performance Analysis & Optimization: Analyze operational data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective action
  • Contract & Communication Management: Maintain accurate records of vendor agreements, communications, and updates
  • Standard Operating Procedure Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of efficient and standardized operating procedures
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Communicate effectively with terminal vendors regarding inquiries, negotiations, and contract details
  • Customer Service & Issue Resolution: Address and resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and operational issues
  • Time Management & Prioritization: Effectively manage workload and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaboration & Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared goals and objectives

Required Skills & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Finance, or a related field preferred. Or the equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum two years of experience in Terminal Operations or a related field. +3 years of industry experience is preferred.
  • Essential Skills:
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Language: Bilingual in Spanish / English preferred
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to present information in an easily understandable manner.

Other Details

The pay range listed for this position is the anticipated starting salary or wage range, and the final offered rate will be based on individual merit and the relative compensation of employees in similar positions. HMM employee benefits include highly subsidized individual and family insurance coverage (medical, dental and vision), term life and disability insurance, 401(k) employer matching contributions, paid holidays, and up to 10 vacation days and six sick days in the first year.
