Job summary

Amrize in Melissa, TX is seeking a Terminal Attendant to perform maintenance, operate plant equipment, and keep buildings, grounds, and equipment in top condition.

You will conduct daily inspections, report deficiencies, follow safety policies, train junior staff, and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, 2 years of general labor experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and a valid driver's license; competitive benefits are offered.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, operate plant equipment, and housekeeping tasks to maintain plant sites, buildings, grounds, and equipment.
  • Operates plant processing equipment, maintains product quality and production output; reports deficiencies to supervisor.
  • Provide preventative maintenance and conduct repairs under supervision.
  • Perform daily inspections of plant equipment and grounds to ensure a safe work environment; report deficiencies to supervisor.
  • Follow safety, compliance, and environmental requirements per company standards.
  • Monitor plant for material spills and mechanical failures and report to site management.
  • Clean around the operating plant using hand tools and small equipment.
  • Support scheduled maintenance and coordinate repairs to ensure timely completion.
  • Provide leadership or guidance to less experienced laborers; may train new employees.
  • Must climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in dusty, hot/cold environments.
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety policies and promote a safety culture.

About The Role

Perform maintenance, equipment operation, grounds, and housekeeping tasks necessary to maintain rail site, buildings, grounds, and equipment managed by regional business entities

What You'll Accomplish
  • Perform maintenance, operate plant equipment, and housekeeping tasks necessary to maintain plant sites, buildings, grounds, and equipment at the plant or job site
  • Operates plant processing equipment, maintains product quality and production output; reports any deficiency to the supervisor for corrective measures
  • Provides preventative maintenance service for plant equipment; conducts plant equipment repairs directly by supervision
  • Performs daily inspections of plant equipment and grounds to ensure a safe work environment; report any deficiency to the supervisor for corrective measures
  • Follows all safety, compliance, and environmental requirements in alignment with company standards
  • Operates plant processing equipment per company guidelines for product quality and production output; monitors plant for material spills and mechanical failure and reports to site management when identified
  • Cleans under and around the operating plant using hand tools and small mobile equipment
  • Perform scheduled maintenance activities on time; assist with major plant repairs and breakdowns as required; coordinate work to ensure that repairs are completed on time and according in order of priority
  • Provides leadership and/or guidance to less experienced laborers on more complex assignments; may train new employees
  • Must be able to climb ladders, lift occasionally 50lbs, and work in dusty, hot/cold environments
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
What We're Looking For
  • Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Required Work Experience: 2 years of general labor experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to use hand and power tools
  • Knowledge of company processes and procedures
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Able to prioritize work
  • Valid driver's license
Additional Requirements
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
