Job summary

Amrize in Wisconsin (La Crosse area) is seeking a hands-on Operations Associate to maintain grounds, handle loading operations, and perform basic equipment maintenance. The role involves sampling products, keeping records, and supporting clerical duties while following stringent health, safety and environmental policies.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma, 1–3 years experience, basic computer skills, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of related work experience requested.
  • Valid Driver’s License preferred.
  • Basic computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP helpful.
  • Experience with customer service and equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Understanding of cement manufacturing or logistics is a plus.
  • Demonstrates welding, machine repair and basic electrical skills.
  • Must follow safety protocols and wear Amrize PPE including respirators.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain grounds, offices, warehouse, yard, etc.
  • Load/unload materials for rail, waterway, and road transport as needed.
  • Understand and operate truck loading equipment.
  • Operate and perform maintenance on mobile equipment.
  • Sample product from trucks and barges per policy.
  • Keep accurate maintenance records for terminal equipment.
  • Perform clerical tasks as required.
  • Adhere to health, safety and environmental policies at all sites.

Job description

WHAT YOU\'LL ACCOMPLISH


  • Maintain grounds, offices, warehouse, yard, etc.

  • Carry out tasks related to loading/unloading material, both bulk and bagged, for rail, waterway, and road methods of transportation, as appropriate for the specific location.

  • Understand and operate truck loading equipment.

  • Operate and conduct general maintenance on mobile equipment and assist with general mechanical maintenance.

  • Sample product from trucks and barges following company policies.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records on all terminal equipment.

  • Perform clerical functions

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

  • Other duties as assigned.


WHAT WE\'RE LOOKING FOR

Required Education: High School diploma/GED


Required Work Experience: 1 - 3 years


Licenses Preferred: Valid Driver’s License


Required Computer and Software Skills: Basic knowledge about computers, Microsoft Office and SAP


Additional Requirements:



  • Experience with customer service and equipment operation and maintenance.

  • A good understanding of the basics of the cement manufacturing process or logistics is preferred.

  • Demonstrates technical skills in welding, machine repair, and basic electricity

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
