This is a term-limited position ending around June 30, 2026, with potential for permanence depending on funding. It is eligible for full benefits.

This role involves training development and delivery for CORE (Colorado Operations Resource Engine) applications, including identifying training needs through gap analysis, surveys, and evaluations.

The responsibilities include planning, organizing, and implementing training to address identified gaps, developing training goals, and customizing training methods. The role also involves explaining work processes, conducting training, advising departments, coordinating with subject matter experts, and evaluating training effectiveness.

Additional duties include creating, facilitating, and delivering various learning experiences (online courses, webinars, videos, job aids, website content), supporting the work unit with development and end-user support, and expanding training as CORE applications grow.

A summary of duties includes:

  • Instructional design and project management: Designing effective training, working with subject matter experts, recommending training strategies, evaluating existing training, managing training environments, and serving as LMS administrator.

  • End user support: Acting as Tier 1 help desk analyst, resolving or routing system issues, and maintaining support documentation.

  • Other duties: Conducting research, drafting training materials, updating content, and supporting training workshops/webinars.

Skills-based hiring aligns with the Governor’s order ( Executive Order 2022 015 ), focusing on skills, knowledge, and abilities relevant to the job to reduce barriers and bias.

Class Code & Classification:

H4I3XX TRAINING SPECIALIST III

Minimum Qualifications:
Experience: At least six (6) years in organizational needs assessments, including designing strategies and conducting in-person and virtual training.

OR

Education & Experience: At least six (6) years of related education and/or experience in organizational needs assessments, including designing strategies and conducting training.

The preferred qualifications include prior State Service, excellent communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, customer service skills, experience in communications, and expertise with Articulate 360 for e-learning.

Conditions of Employment:

  • A pre-employment criminal background check is required.
