Tenured/Tenure‑Track Faculty Position

Posting Summary

The Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering (CBE) at Rutgers University‑New Brunswick invites applications for open‑rank tenured or tenure‑track faculty positions in the areas of biomanufacturing, pharmaceutical engineering, and clean energy and sustainability. These positions align with the School of Engineering’s strategic priority areas in Healthcare Technology and Innovations in Energy. Candidates with demonstrated experience or a strong interest in industry collaboration are especially encouraged to apply.

Area of Interest: Biomanufacturing and Pharmaceutical Engineering

• Biomanufacturing of bioproducts, biologics, cell and gene therapies, and/or vaccines
• Chemical synthesis and manufacturing of pharmaceutical drugs and products
• AI/ML and data science applications for bio/pharmaceuticals design, discovery, process development, scale‑up, and manufacturing
• Self‑driving labs and automation for advanced manufacturing of bio/pharmaceuticals

Area of Interest: Clean Energy and Sustainability

• Carbon circularity and industrial decarbonization
• Waste upcycling and sustainable materials synthesis
• Critical minerals and materials recovery using biological and non‑biological approaches
• Electrified processes for sustainable and energy‑efficient manufacturing
• Bio/polymeric materials synthesis, modeling, and characterization

Qualifications

Applicants should hold a PhD in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline and demonstrate excellence in research, potential for or a record of external funding, and a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse population of undergraduate and graduate students.
