Job summary

The University of Texas at Tyler invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Counseling in the CACREP-accredited CMHC program. This full-time, nine-month appointment will be in-person on the UT Tyler campus, with potential for tenure-track starting Spring 2027 or Fall 2027.

The CMHC program leads to LPC eligibility; salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Applicants should demonstrate strong teaching and research promise.

Qualifications

• PhD or EdD in Counselor Education (CACREP preferred) by Aug. 2027.
• Evidence of university teaching and research activity appropriate for an assistant professor.
• Licensed or license-eligible in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Pursue an active scholarly research agenda.
• Teach graduate courses in counseling.
• Supervise CMHC students during internship and practicum.
• Advise counseling students.
• Provide service to the counseling profession and participate in governance.
• Potential to serve as Program Coordinator for the CMHC program.
• Collaborate with other psychology programs when possible.
• Maintain regular on-campus presence.
• Attend departmental meetings.
