Job summary

The University of California, San Diego invites applications for a tenured faculty appointment based in the Halcolu Data Science Institute, the academic unit of the newly formed School of Computing, Information and Data Sciences. We seek outstanding candidates in AI/ML across diverse areas, with a focus on rigorous, funded research and cross‑pollination with Data Science programs.

Appointment will be at Associate or Full Professor rank with tenure.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, or a related field.
• Evidence of independent scholarly impact and research productivity.
• Evidence of and/or demonstrated ability to teach and advise students.

Responsibilities

• Establish a rigorous, federally funded research program in AI/ML within HDSI's scope.
• Teach at graduate and undergraduate levels to support Data Science major/minor and institute programs.
• Contribute to service, mentorship, and development of the Data Science community at UC San Diego.
