Job summary

University of San Diego invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Theatre Studies. The candidate will teach a 3-3 load, mentoring students and developing an internationally informed curriculum across theatre history and performance.

Department duties may include dramaturgy or directing departmental productions. The successful applicant will contribute to a vibrant, globally aware program and engage in teaching excellence, with a strong emphasis on

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Theatre, Performance Studies, or related field (ABD considered if degree is completed by start date).
• Demonstrated record of teaching excellence.
• A research agenda that informs and enriches their classroom practice.

Responsibilities

• Teach a 3-3 teaching load of Theatre courses, including lower- and upper-division classes.
• Mentor students and foster a deep appreciation for theatre across cultures and eras.
• Support departmental productions as Dramaturg or Director based on skill-set.

Education

Ph.D. in Theatre, Performance Studies, or related field (ABD considered if degree is completed by start date)
