Job summary

Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Special Education to begin Fall Term 2027. The department offers licensure programs and five Master’s degree programs, seeking a faculty member to teach graduate and undergraduate courses and coordinate the SPED graduate program.

Qualifications

PhD or EdD in Special Education or closely related field.
Minimum of three years as a Special Education teacher in K-12 schools.
Active research agenda in Special Education or Teacher Education.
Ability to teach graduate and undergraduate courses and coordinate the graduate program in Special Education.

Responsibilities

Teach 12 credits per semester with a 3-credit research release.
Coordinate the MAT in Education and SPED endorsement programs.
Advise students and contribute to accreditation processes.
Engage in scholarship, service, and departmental activities.
