Job summary

The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Special Education beginning Fall 2027. We seek a scholar-practitioner with expertise in inclusive K-12 methods for learners with disabilities, including curriculum access, assessment-informed instruction, and specially designed instruction.

The appointment is a 9-month academic year with a teaching load of 12 credits per semester.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in accessible special education methods for K-12 learners with disabilities.
• Commitment to equity, culturally responsive teaching and collaboration.
• Evidence of scholarship and/or potential to develop a research program in special education.

Responsibilities

• Develop and teach undergraduate courses in cross-categorical special education with emphasis on K-12 methods and inclusive practices.
• Develop partnerships with K-12 schools to support clinical experiences and program development.
• Contribute to curriculum development, accreditation, licensure documentation, and program assessment.
• Supervise clinical experiences and student teaching, providing coaching and feedback.
• Advise and mentor teacher candidates throughout their preparation program.
