Job summary

University of Wisconsin-La Crosse is seeking a Special Collections Librarian (Assistant Professor) in Murphy Library for a 9-month tenure-track faculty position beginning 1/7/2027. The role focuses on leadership of the Special Collections unit, collection development, donor relations, and processing of archival materials and maps.

The candidate will contribute to information literacy, collaborate with cataloging staff, and engage in scholarship and service within a student-centered teaching

Qualifications

• Masters in an ALA-accredited Library Science program at time of application.
• Evidence of clear and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Co-manage the Special Collections unit, including collection development, processing, donor relations, and government documents responsibilities.
• Support information literacy, collaborate with cataloging, and contribute to scholarship, service, and professional activities.
