University of Wisconsin-La Crosse invites applications for an Instructor Pool at Murphy Library. The pool supports teaching one-shot information literacy sessions and related projects across disciplines, under department supervision.

Selected instructors will assist with varying library instruction initiatives to enhance teaching, learning, and access to information resources. These are fixed-term appointments with no visa sponsorship offered.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a field relevant to library services (MLIS preferred).
• Equivalent qualifications that support effective teaching may be considered.

Job Duties

Each department at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse maintains an ongoing search to serve as a pool of potential instructors for program needs. If hired from this pool, the instructor will be under the general supervision of chair. The instructor provides a variety of library services to graduate and undergraduates in the areas of teaching, learning, and public services to support creative exploration, intellectual growth, and scholarly pursuits. This position will be focused on teaching one-shot information literacy classes across various disciplines and other projects related to support information literacy instruction within the library department.

• Master's degree in a field relevant to the department's needs, usually an MLIS, or substantial progress toward a graduate degree in Library and Information Science. Equivalent qualifications that support effective teaching in the position may also be considered.
