Job summary

The University of the District of Columbia invites applications for a full-time, nine-month permanent faculty appointment in Social Work within the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Program.

UDC seeks candidates to teach undergraduate courses, mentor students, engage in scholarly activities, and contribute to program, division, and university service. A terminal degree is required with strong teaching potential and commitment to growth.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree or completion expected within a specified period.
• At least 3 years of full-time teaching experience, including 2 years in higher education.
• Professional experience may substitute for teaching experience.
• Potential for effective teaching when limited.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate social work courses aligned with the generalist curriculum.
• Mentor students and participate in service at multiple levels.
• Engage in scholarly activities and maintain an active research agenda.
• Develop and update model syllabi for assigned courses.
• Contribute to curriculum development and EPAS alignment.
• Participate in program leadership and collaborative research.
• Engage in assessment and continuous improvement of outcomes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
