Job summary

San Diego State University’s School of Communication seeks a tenure-track assistant professor with expertise in communication theory and methods. The candidate will develop a rigorous research program and teach foundational undergraduate courses COMM 300, COMM 350, COMM 495 and graduate seminars COMM 610 and COMM 602.

Qualifications

• Record of original research/scholarly accomplishments.
• Demonstrated capacity to develop a vigorous and independent program of research, teach communication courses; engage in campus and professional service activities.
• Past accomplishments and/or future plans in at least three of the Building on Inclusive Excellence criteria.
• PhD degree in communication, with all degree requirements met.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses COMM 300, COMM 350, and COMM 495.
• Teach graduate courses COMM 610 and COMM 602.
• Coordinate foundational undergraduate courses and engage in scholarly research.
• Contribute to campus and professional service activities and engage with diverse communities.
