South Dakota State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Psychology in the School of Psychology, Sociology & Rural Studies in Brookings. The nine-month, full-time position starts August 2027 and is subject to background checks. The salary is commensurate with qualifications, with a minimum of $72,000.

Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in Psychology by start date and a specialization in applied behavior analysis, biology, or clinical psychology.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Psychology or closely related field by start date.
• Specialization in applied behavior analysis, biological, or clinical psychology.
• Ability to teach psychology at the college/university level.
• Ability to build an independent research program.
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach in-person and online undergraduate courses in Psychology (three courses each term; summer optional).
• Mentor undergraduate students in research.
• Maintain an active research program.
• Provide service to the School, College, and University as well as service to the profession.
