Job summary

Boston University Department of Chemistry invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Quantum Materials Chemistry, beginning July 1, 2027. Candidates with synthesis, preparation, and/or characterization of solid-state and/or molecular materials for quantum information science or sensing are sought.

• PhD in chemistry or closely related field.
• At least one year of postdoctoral research experience.
• Research in quantum materials with a focus on synthesis, preparation, and/or characterization of solid-state and/or molecular materials.

Responsibilities

• Undergraduate teaching responsibilities in physical and materials chemistry.
• Opportunity to develop graduate courses in the candidate's area of expertise.
• Contribute to BU's cross-disciplinary quantum science and engineering consortium.
