Boston University’s Department of Chemistry invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Quantum Materials Chemistry, beginning July 1, 2027. Candidates will focus on synthesis, preparation, and/or characterization of solid-state and/or molecular materials with potential applications in quantum information science and sensing.

The successful candidate will join a cross-college quantum science and engineering consortium and will teach undergraduate physical and materials

Qualifications

• Postdoctoral experience in quantum materials or related chemistry/physics is required.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate physical and materials chemistry courses.
• Develop graduate courses in the candidate’s area of expertise.
• Engage in multidisciplinary research within the quantum science consortium.
