University of Hawai'i at Manoa, John A. Burns School of Medicine, Department of Medicine, invites applications for a full-time Professor (H5M11) track.

The role emphasizes leadership in medical education (UME/GME), scholarly activity, and program development within JABSOM and its clinical affiliates. The position requires a strong track record in teaching, research, and leadership, with tenure-track expectations and potential extramural funding.

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent medical degree from an accredited medical school.
• Minimum of four years as Associate Professor, or ten years in other health care/teaching roles, or a total of ten years teaching as Associate Professor.
• Current Board certification in Internal Medicine with ongoing Maintenance of Certification, and any subspecialty boards.
• Eligible for or currently holds an unrestricted Hawai‘i Medical License.
• Evidence of excellence in teaching, national/international scholarly recognition, and effective medical education/clinical program administration.

Responsibilities

• Participates in developing principles to guide academic program evaluation in internal medicine and medical education.
• May assume leadership roles, including Department Chair or leadership roles in affiliated medical groups.
• Participates in strategic and operational planning at school level and collaborates with clinical affiliates.
