Job summary

The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Human Development and Family Studies. The successful candidate will develop an externally funded research program, teach undergraduates and/or graduates, and mentor students while contributing to service at multiple levels.

Areas of interest include addiction science, child life, and development across adulthood; a strong publication record and potential for funding are highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Human Development and Family Studies, Developmental Science, Psychology, or related field.
• Evidence of scholarly work including publications and grant activity.
• Teaching experience in higher education.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop an active scholarly research program with external funding.
• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses.
• Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
• Engage in service at campus, community, state, or national level.
