Job summary

The University of Arkansas School of Law is seeking applicants for a 9-month, 100% appointed, tenure/tenure track assistant, associate or full professor starting in the 2027-2028 academic year to teach the Criminal Practice Clinic.

The candidate will direct and teach the Criminal Practice Clinic each semester, supervise student law practice, teach the clinic seminar, manage the clinic’s docket, and provide students regular feedback, including through weekly supervision meetings.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• A distinguished academic record.
• Demonstrated scholarly promise.
• A law license and two years of legal experience.
• Eligible for admission to the Arkansas bar.
• Experience teaching, mentoring or supervising law students, legal interns, or attorneys.
• Tenure-track teaching experience or clinical teaching preferred.
• Three or more years of practical legal experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and teach the Criminal Practice Clinic each semester.
• Supervise student law practice and teach the clinic seminar.
• Manage the clinic’s docket and provide regular feedback through weekly supervision meetings.
• Collaborate with faculty and clinic staff on program administration.
• Engage in scholarship and service at the law school.
