Job summary

The Computing & Software Systems Department at the University of Washington Bothell invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in computing & software systems, beginning September 16, 2027. This is a 100% FTE nine-month appointment with a renewable 3-year term.

The successful candidate will establish externally funded research, supervise graduate students, and teach at undergraduate and graduate levels while supporting learning for students from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

• An earned doctorate in computer science or a related field by the date of hire.
• Doctoral degree must be completed within 2 years.
• Acting Assistant Professor possible pending PhD title if not yet completed; title changes upon degree conferral.

Responsibilities

• Develop externally sponsored research programs.
• Supervise graduate students.
• Engage in excellent teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Support learning for students from diverse backgrounds.
