Charleston Southern University invites applications for an Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Christian Studies. The College seeks candidates who are professing Christians, committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service within a strong liberal arts context, and able to affirm core Baptist statements.

The successful candidate will teach Church History, Historical Theology, and Old Testament or New Testament Survey in person, with potential Discipleship courses.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree in Christian Studies or related field; Ph.D. preferred.
• Evidence of successful teaching experience.
• Must be a professing Christian and member of a Southern Baptist Church.

They should support the goals of a strong liberal arts education and be willing to explore with students the integration of faith and learning. Additionally, applicants in the College of Christian Studies must be a member of a Southern Baptist Church and be able to affirm to the Baptist Faith and Message (2000), the Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy, and the Danvers Statement on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood.Work PerformedThis Faculty member will teach courses in Church History, Historical Theology, and Old Testament Survey or New Testament Survey in-person. If qualified, this faculty member may be asked to teach Discipleship as well. Applicants should, therefore, live within driving distance of the campus.QualificationsMinimum education requirements include a terminal degree (Ph.D preferred, but other applicants may be considered) in Church History, Historical Theology, or an appropriate field of Christian Studies with eighteen (18) hours of graduate coursework relevant to the courses being taught.
