North Seattle College's Math & Sciences Division is seeking a full-time tenure-track physics faculty member to teach the full range of General (algebra-based) and calculus-based Physics, with in-person and hybrid options. The position starts in Winter, Spring, or Fall quarter 2027 and emphasizes inclusive, equity-minded learning for a diverse student body.

Ideal candidates will have a Masters or PhD in Physics or Applied Physics and a record of effective teaching, collaboration, and commitment

Qualifications

• Masters degree or PhD in Physics or Applied Physics.
• Experience teaching physics at higher education levels.
• Experience instructing diverse student populations.
• Experience using assessment to improve learning.
• Experience collaborating on projects and community building.

Responsibilities

• Teach the full range of general and calculus-based physics courses.
• Design inclusive learning experiences across modalities.
• Create assessments and analyze data for continuous improvement.
• Mentor students from recruitment to transition.
• Participate in curriculum review and equity initiatives.
• Engage in shared governance and anti-racist initiatives.
