Job summary

The University of Rhode Island College of Nursing seeks an Assistant Professor (tenure track) to begin Fall 2026 on the Kingston campus with opportunities for collaboration across health-related colleges and centers.

The successful candidate will build a program of research in community/public health or environmental health, contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching, mentor students, and participate in service activities within a collaborative university environment.

Qualifications

• PhD degree or equivalent research degree at time of appointment.
• Master's degree in Nursing or Public Health.
• CV demonstrating research, scholarship and teaching potential.
• Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in writing skills.
• Eligible for RN or APRN licensure in Rhode Island.
• Ability to work with diverse groups and populations.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a robust program of research germane to nursing and health that is supported by extramural funding.
• Maintain a high level of scholarly activity as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international meetings.
• Contribute to the undergraduate and graduate teaching missions of the University by mentoring students and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses as .
• Serve on college and University committees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
