Job summary

Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, CA, invites applications for a full-time, 175-day tenure-track Nursing Faculty position in the Health Sciences Department with an anticipated Spring 2027 start.

The instructor will teach registered nursing courses, supervise labs and practicum, counsel students, develop and update curriculum, participate in program review and college governance, and maintain office hours. Teaching may occur at off-campus centers, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing, health education, or health science with California RN license.
• At least two years of recent clinical nursing experience (medical/surgical and/or mental health) within last three years.
• Ability to teach nursing courses in diploma/associate/baccalaureate programs or as an in-service educator.

Responsibilities

• Teach registered nursing classes and supervise labs and practicum on campus and extended campuses.
• Evaluate and counsel nursing students.
• Plan and organize instructional materials toward course objectives and review content.
• Participate in program review and governance and maintain schedules, grades, and attendance.
• Maintain five office hours for student consultation and assist with off-campus, evening, or weekend classes.
