Job summary
Marshall University seeks two full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor candidates in Neuroscience within the Department of Biological Sciences. Successful applicants will establish and lead independent research programs focused on neural plasticity and participate in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses.
Applicants should have a PhD in neuroscience, biology, or related fields and at least two years of postdoctoral experience.
Qualifications
- PhD in neuroscience, biology, or a related field.
- At least two years of relevant postdoctoral experience.
- A research program in the general area of neural plasticity.
- Commitment to developing independent and collaborative research with undergraduates and graduates.
- Ability to teach immunology, metabolism, or histology alongside neuroscience topics.
- Commitment to enthusiastic, innovative, and inclusive teaching.
Responsibilities
- Teach in general education and core courses in the department.
- Develop or redesign upper-level and graduate courses in the candidate’s field.
- Join and contribute to the WV-NFNT team focusing on synaptic and circuit plasticity research areas.
- Build a strong, independent, and collaborative research program involving undergraduates and graduate students.
