Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genomics, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Cell Biology, Computational Biology, or related field.
• Proven potential for effective undergraduate teaching.
• Proven potential for scholarly productivity and undergraduate research mentorship.
• Strong oral, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Experience teaching undergraduate courses and laboratories in molecular biology, genetics, genomics, or bioinformatics.
• Experience involving undergraduate students in research activities.
• Experience with genomic data analysis, next-generation sequencing technologies, computational biology tools.
• Experience with online or hybrid instruction is preferred.
• Commitment to student success and inclusive teaching practices.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate lectures and labs in Molecular Biology, Genomics, Bioinformatics, Cell Biology and related courses.
• Develop and maintain an active scholarly research program involving undergraduates.
• Provide academic advising, mentoring, and student support with regular office hours.
• Deliver high-quality instruction using innovative teaching practices.
• Participate in curriculum development, assessment, accreditation, and program review.
• Serve on departmental, college, and university committees.
• Collaborate with faculty to support recruitment, retention, undergraduate research, and community outreach.
• Contribute to development of biology degree programs and online offerings as appropriate.
• Maintain records and complete reporting requirements in a timely manner.
