Kenyon College invites applications for a tenure-track position in the Department of Biology starting in July 2027. We seek a broadly trained molecular biologist with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and research.

We welcome applicants working in any area of molecular biology, including but not limited to gene expression and regulation, genomics, structural biology, protein structure and function, and/or computational molecular biology.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree required; post‑doctoral experience preferred.
• Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and mentoring a diverse student population.
• Experience or interest in undergraduate teaching and research across molecular biology areas.

Responsibilities

• Teach five courses per year including introductory biology, Molecular Biology, its lab, and upper‑level courses.
• Establish an active undergraduate research program and mentor students; pursue extramural funding.
• Collaborate within a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology program and promote interdisciplinary teaching.
