Job summary

George Mason University’s Costello College of Business invites applications for a Tenure-Line Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems (MIS) in the ISOM area. The position starts Fall 2027 and is a full-time appointment with benefits.

The MIS faculty will conduct high-quality research and teach undergraduate and graduate MIS courses, with an initial workload around 9 credits per year, and engage in service within the university and the profession.

Qualifications

• Earned Ph.D. in MIS or ABD with expected degree before Fall 2027.
• Evidence of effective teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Evidence of a strong research trajectory with potential for top-tier publications.
• Ability to contribute to service and collegial work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct high-quality MIS research and teach MIS courses.
• Manage a teaching load around 9 credits annually (about 3 courses).
• Provide service to ISOM Area, College, University, and community.
