Job summary

George Mason University's Costello College of Business seeks a tenure-line Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems (MIS) to start Fall 2027. This full-time, benefits-eligible position is part of the ISOM area and will teach MIS courses in undergraduate and graduate programs.

Qualifications

• Earned Ph.D. in MIS or closely related field or be ABD with a documented expectation of degree completion before the start of Fall 2027
• Evidence of effective teaching or the potential to effectively teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels
• Evidence of a strong research trajectory with the potential for publications in top-tier academic journals
• Good citizenship in terms of service is critical, as is the ability to work well with colleagues

Responsibilities

• Conduct high-quality research and teach MIS courses in undergraduate and graduate programs
• Teaching load initially set at 9 credits per year (about 3 courses) under workload policy
• Provide service to the ISOM area, College of Business, university, and profession, including mentoring and committee work
