The Department of Microbiology in the School of Molecular and Cellular Biology (https://mcb.illinois.edu/departments/microbiology/) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign seeks applicants for a full-time tenure track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

Candidates who will enhance and expand the department’s strengths in exploring the fundamental biology of microbes and their viruses are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in microbiology or a related field.
• Postdoctoral experience is expected.
• Track record or promise of teaching effectiveness and independent research.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent research and contribute to BS/PhD programs.
• Teach effectively at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Provide service to department, university and profession.
