Job summary

Utah Tech University in St. George, Utah, invites applications for two full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in the Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) program.

Start dates are January 1, 2027, or July 1, 2027, or until filled, with a 10-month contract and a projected start in the MFT program. The successful candidates will hold a terminal degree in MFT and be licensed or license-eligible in Utah.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in MFT is required; ABD may be considered if degree is awarded prior to July 2027.
• Evidence of potential for successful teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to engage with colleagues, staff, administrators, and community organizations to improve student experiences.
• Licensed or able to obtain licensure in Utah as an MFT.
• Is or can become an AAMFT approved supervisor prior to hire date.
• Emphasis in child and adolescent treatment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses (including summer) as assigned.
• Participate in teaching and learning seminars to enhance instructional knowledge.
• Attend department and college meetings and collaborate to improve the psychology program.
• Engage in scholarly activity and/or pedagogy-related scholarship within a teaching university context.
• Support development of a Utah Tech community clinic and supervise student internships.
• Contribute to accreditation efforts and service activities.
