Job summary

Auburn University’s Department of Human Development and Family Science invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track position at the assistant/associate level in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), a fully COAMFTE accredited, terminal Master’s degree program. The start date is August 2027 and the program accepts a six-student cohort each year.

The successful candidate will contribute to research, teaching, clinical supervision, and service. It requires a Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in MFT or HDFS with MS in MFT at start date.
• AAMFT supervisor status or supervisor candidate.
• MFT licensure in Alabama or eligibility within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a productive externally visible program of research.
• Pursue extramural funding opportunities.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in HDFS/MFT.
• Provide supervision and training within the MFT program.
• Mentor graduate students and chair theses/dissertations.
• Engage in service to university, profession and community.
