Job summary

NC State University in Raleigh invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Insect Ecology with 60% teaching and mentoring and 40% research. The role centers on ENT 201: Insects and People, serving ~140 students, and expanding an externally funded insect ecology program.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
  • Expertise in insect ecology with areas such as pest management, pollination, or ecosystem interactions.
  • Record of research activity with potential for external funding (PI/Co‑PI preferred).
  • Valid NC Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Teach ENT 201: Insects and People and other undergraduate/graduate courses.
  • Develop innovative, accessible teaching methods and curriculum.
  • Mentor undergraduate, M.S., and Ph.D. students through research.
  • Engage in service, outreach, and interdisciplinary collaborations.
